Everyone is welcome
If you've got a smile and are keen, we want you! No experience is required, but if you do have skills like first aid, retail, traffic management or social media let us know and we'll try to use them. You'll have a team leader, and get briefed so you have everything you need to have a great day. We have roles where you don't need to be very active such as our medal team, all the way up to cycling as a tail-end Charlie ensuring all our athletes are safe.

Event operations
This may be one of the best volunteer roles. You will be working alongside our experienced event team behind the scenes to make the event awesome for participants and spectators. You can expect to be in the venue and out on course. |
Athlete check-in
This is the face of the event you will be one of the friendly team who help the participants picking up their rego packs before their events. |
Start line team
In this role, you will join our wider event operations team to ensure a smooth start all of the races. You'll be that friendly face first thing in the morning to help steady rider nerves, direct them to the right place and be the first to cheer them on. |
Course marshal
This role is the life blood of the event and is about being at a marshal point and directing the participants in the correct direction. You do not need to worry if you don't know where to go, we will transport you there or you can ride your bike. |
Finish line team
This is one of the most amazing experience you will have volunteering at the Highlander. Not only will you be awarding finisher medal and congratulating the rider who make it to the finish, you will also get to share in their emotional celebration of competing one of the toughest mountain bike events they have ridden. |
Bike Tail-End Charlie
You do not need to be named Charlie for this role. You will get to ride the course of your choice tailing along behind the last athlete on course. Plus you get a finisher medal too! |
